IPEGA 9139 Android Controller Setup & Review

Today we’re going to take a look at the Ipega 9139 Android/Nintendo Switch controller. After the unboxing we’ll check out the modular components of the controller and then give it a test in Gamepad Tester. After this I test the game out in Xinput mode (Sonic The Hedgehog) and then in Call of Duty Mobile (using Panda Gamepad Pro).

If you want to be in with a chance of winning this controller just complete the following steps:

The Giveaway is now over! The winner is “The Devil” 🎉🎊 Congratulations!

Overall

I think this controller is decent for the price. OK it’s not as sturdy and well built as the Glap controller but that controller costs £80. You’ve also got the benefit of being able to customise your layout depending on who’s using it.

It’s a shame the d-pad connect seems to fall out during normal use. I think that it’s actually quite a nice addition. It’s quite rare to see modular controllers – especially for Android. I wish they’d put a bit more time and money into making the IPEGA 9139 the perfect modular gamepad. Microsoft have their Elite Controller which is stupidly priced…

I’d like to see a newer version of the 9139 get released. Perhaps a 9139s which has the d-pad issue fixed. Maybe even improve the A, B, X and Y buttons to feel less “spongy”. If they managed to pull this off, and keep it around the £30 price they’d have a real winner.
